Terms & Conditions

Our rack Rates are incl. 16% VAT and 2% Room levy. In the event of any changes in Government tax, Currency fluctuation, fuel surcharges or increase in operating costs beyond our control, we reserve the right to adjust rates accordingly without prior notice.

Payment Terms:

  • Bookings will be considered confirmed upon receipt of a booking voucher from the tour operator.
  • A 20% deposit is due for all confirmed bookings.
  • Full balance of payment is required 30 days prior to guests’ arrival.
  • For last minute booking, full payment is due upon confirmation.
  • The Majlis Lamu may, at its discretion, not honor a booking if the deposit & full payment is not received prior to arrival.
  • We reserve the right to make amendments to the rates in the event of any increase in taxes, levies, statutory charges or any other input costs. • Children from 0 – 3 years are free of charge.
  • Children from 4 – 11 years sharing with 2 adults pay 50% of the Adult rate
  • Children of 4 – 11 years in their own room pay 75% of room rate (maximum 3 children)
  •  Single adult sharing with a child of 4 – 11 years, pay Single Room Rate + 50% of Adult rate (for the child)
  • Between 90 – 60 days prior to date of stay 20% of the total cost will be charged.
  • Between 60 – 35 days prior to date of stay 30% of the total cost will be charged.
  •  Between 34 – 20 days prior to date of stay 50% of the total cost will be charged.
  •  Between 19 – Arrival date (No Show) 100% of the total cost will be charged.

FESTIVESEASON:

DEPARTURE POLICY

Check-out time is 10.00hrs, regardless of the time of arrival.

Late departures after 10.30hrs will be charged at 50% of the room rate (meals excluded) unless prior arrangements have been confirmed.

REFUNDS:

Should any client arrive late or request an early departure, no refund will be granted. The Majlis will ensure that all antic ipated accommodation will be available as planned, there shall be no claim of any nature against The Majlis for a refund (either in part or whole), if any accommodation is unavailable

and a reasonable alternative was found – or if guests were unable to make use of the service for any reason.

In case of booking cancellations; we will keep a credit note against the booking, for use at a future date. (Valid for 12 months)

INSURANCES:

All guests should take comprehensive insurance cover when paying their confirmation deposit, to cover them for cancellation, curtailment, medical expenses, personal baggage, emergency evacuation back home and money.

Usage of these rates automatically signifies acceptance by the client of the booking and Terms and Conditions as stated above. This contract supersedes any other previously issued. FOR: The Majlis Resort – Lamu
