Lamu Airport

Located on Manda Island Kenya, just across the channel from Lamu Town, the Manda airstrip is a small regional airport which handles domestic flights and private travel.

The Lamu airport does not handle international flights which need to clear through customs either in Nairobi (Jomo Kenyatta), Mombasa, or Malindi before flying into Lamu Islands as a domestic flight.

The Manda airstrip is a class III airport with operating hours between 6am and 6pm. The main runway, 16/34, is 1 kilometer long and 15 meters wide with bitumen surface and has an overrun of 600 meters compact murram. This runway is PCN 8 and the largest aircrafts it can accommodate are ATR 42, Dash 7 & 8, SAAB 340, CITATION, Challenger II, L410, Twin Otter, and King Air.
